Mummy Rose, as we fondly called her, was so dear to me. She was a woman deeply committed to the things of the Lord, even in the midst of her own challenges. She was a giver who knew no bounds when it came to giving to the church and to people in need. Her generosity flowed freely, from a heart that genuinely cared for others. Mummy Rose was also a bold and courageous woman. She was never one to condone wrongdoing quietly or surreptitiously. Whatever she believed was wrong, she would openly condemn, regardless of whose ox was gored. She stood firmly for what she believed was right. Her life was filled with testimonies of God's goodness and faithfulness, especially in the lives of her children and family. She had so many stories of what the Lord had done, and her life itself was a testimony to God's grace. The news of her passing came to me as a rude shock, especially because she had only a few days earlier shared with me a dream she had about me. It was therefore difficult to comprehend that she was suddenly gone. As I looked at Mummy Rose that fateful day, a part of me kept imagining that she would somehow come back to life. Perhaps it was my heart struggling to accept the reality before my eyes. But sadly, those were only the figments of my imagination. Mummy Rose, I choose to hold on to the hope of the resurrection. I believe that we shall see you again on that glorious resurrection morning, when the dead in Christ shall rise and we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together to meet the Lord in the air. Mummy, rest peacefully in the bosom of the Lord. Your love, generosity, courage, and unwavering commitment to the things of God will remain indelible in our hearts. You will be deeply and forever missed by my husband and me. Until we meet again on that glorious resurrection morning, rest in the Lord, Mummy Rose.
