MEMORY OF DEAR SISTER
There's no better time to grapple the impact of a person's life and work on earth than from the perspectives of their death.
My memories growing up of my sister was not childhood like, but rather adolescent, reasons being that she went in the spirit of family service to babysit some of my father's first son's children, at the expense of her younger siblings.
In recollection as though it was yesterday, was one occasional visit by her to our house, and not knowing who she was, out of curiosity asked my mom who she was, and she said, "that's your sister, my daughter". In hindsight coincidentally, she made up for my childhood bonding deprivation in my teenage days and continued until her call to GLORY.
She was more of a mom than a sister; a spiritual anchor, epitome of love for things of God, and humanity; avid, compassionate giver. Retrospectively, my days with her at 77 Azikiwe road, 2J Pound Road, Faulks Road, Umule Road etc. all in Aba, shaped the person I am today.
We connected spiritually; she was a strength in my wilderness days; believed in my dreams even when I couldn't; saw the best in me when the naysayers saw otherwise.
Her excitement at the news of my marriage knew no bond. Little wonder the spirit moved her to be with my family at the birth of my first son, battling in prayers against the devil as my wife's strength was failing in labor, to victory of GOD'S GLORY.
Little wonder, it pleased CHUKWU-OKIKE, to awoken my consciousness on her GLORIOUS EXIT.
ADIEU! TILL WE MEET TO PART NO MORE.
