A TRIBUTE TO MY BELOVED SISTER, IDU ONYIA My dear sister, Idu, Writing this tribute is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do because I still cannot believe that I am writing about you in the past tense. Part of me still expects to hear your voice, receive your call, or hear you say, "Let's pray." The reality that you are no longer here is a pain words cannot fully express. As the last child in our family, I looked up to you in every way. You were more than my elder sister—you were my safe place. Whenever life became overwhelming, I knew exactly who to call. You never made me feel that my problems were too small or too big. You listened with patience, encouraged me with love, and then did what you always did best—you prayed. You didn't just say, "I'll pray for you." You did. You carried my burdens before God as though they were your own. You stood in the gap for me time and again. Even when I was discouraged or my faith was weak, yours remained strong. Knowing you were praying for me gave me peace because I knew you had a special relationship with God. Your love for Christ was the foundation of your life. You were a woman of faith whose life reflected the goodness of God. You didn't just preach the Gospel—you lived it every day. You loved sincerely, forgave easily, gave generously, and never stopped trusting God through difficult seasons. Your life remains a testimony that will continue to inspire all who knew you. Today, I am left with memories I will treasure forever. I miss your prayers and words of encouragement. I miss your laughter. I miss knowing that no matter what happened, I had a sister who would always stand with me before the throne of God. There is a loneliness that comes with losing someone like you. It is the loneliness of losing a piece of your heart. Yet even in my tears, I find comfort in knowing that heaven gained a faithful servant. The God you loved so deeply has welcomed you home. You have finished your race, kept the faith, and received the crown that awaits those who love the Lord. Thank you, my dear sister, for being such a blessing in my life. Thank you for every prayer you whispered for me, every word of encouragement, every sacrifice you made, and every expression of love you showed. Though you are no longer here for me to see or embrace, the impact of your life will remain with me always. I promise to honor your memory by holding on to the faith you taught me to cherish and by trusting the God you never stopped believing in. Though my heart aches beyond words, I rejoice knowing this goodbye is not forever. Because of Christ, we will meet again. Until that glorious day, rest peacefully, my beloved sister. Thank you for loving me so completely. Thank you for praying me through life's battles. Thank you for showing me what it means to live for God. I will miss you every day. I love you always. Rest well, my dear sister, until we meet again.
