“GOOD BYE: WOMAN OF VIRTUE: OUR OWN CATHEDRAL”
Mine is not a mere tribute: it is the facts of real reflection of MRS. ROSE IDUU ONYIA (a.k.a
CATHEDRAL). Honestly, words fail me. The news of your demise came to me as a rude shock, not after you have refreshed so much from your Port Harcourt trip, looking pepperless.
‘Cathy’ as I fondly call you, how did you allow this to happen? If I did not get this news from our dear Pastor, I would have doubted it completely. He called to ask us to pray for Cathedral: moments later, the news changed: Cathedral is gone. I got confused.
‘CATHEDRAL’, the origin and meaning solely known to you and me; is gone but the values and
positive impacts of your RESUME and life remain with us still. Because of space, I will touch only on few extracts from the large resume thus:
• You were a no-nonsense woman. You never supported evil, no matter who was involved.
• A dodged fighter that was never intimidated.
• A woman that can withstand any man at all levels.
• Very courageous and bold
• Never an easy nut to crack
• A woman who learned how to “live above the noise”.
• You raised and guided your children with strict discipline.
• You were a great shield to them all of which with courage though, not without travails raised their heads above storms and today, they are shining stars.
• You were more like a merchant’s ship, who brought food and fed all from far and near.
• You never got tired doing what you knew best how to do.
• You never ate the bread of idleness
• A tireless prayer warrior. An invader per excellence of Abundant Faith (Living Word Ministries).
• A pillar of love, strength and inspiration to me and my family.
I can go on and on but suffice it to be so.
Adieu:
Mother par excellence, disciplined, principled, selfless, fearless and hardworking. We thank God that you lived a good life, left a worthy legacy and now at God’s own time, gone ahead to be with the Lord.
Sleep on iron lady.
Sleep on ‘Agile’
Sleep on Iduu
Sleep on Ada Oputa
Sleep on Nwunye London.
Sleep on Mummy Rose.
Greet your darling brother in the new Jerusalem, where you both met to part no more.
May the good Lord grant you eternal rest.
N/B: Men and Brethren, the time is very short now. Please, let’s prepare to meet our God because the trumpet can sound any time. Be prepared to meet your savior.
